The Derry Brownfield Show

I know a lot of our listeners tune in to Derry’s show in the evenings when we air it and more are also catching it in the mornings.

Derry is leaving Learfield as of this writing to continue his pursuits on his own. You can read about it here and here.

I think this line sums it up the best:

You claim that Derry did not give balance on the Monsanto story. Derry IS the balance! You will not find anyone telling the truth in our “esteemed media”. They are bought and paid for by just such corporations as Monsanto through advertising. Letting go of his program, and Derry himself, whom we all know to be a man of integrity, just proves he is right. The big companies (Monsanto) with big money pull the strings. Well – Derry won’t jump, and neither will we. We love you Derry and crew, and we support you no matter how this shakes out! Kris

We will continue to air The Derry Brownfield Show as long as possible. We’re going follow him over to his new network and keep on trucking. This is just another example of big business controlling the media to their benefit.

I believe Derry is the voice of the small non-corporate farmer and his common sense approach to life “down on the farm” is just that – common sense. It’s mentioned that The Derry Brownfield Show is entertainment not news, in many ways that may be true but the show also delves into subject matter that’s important to listeners and the general public alike – I think the word that should’ve been used is edu-taintment.

Personally I’m glad to see that Clyde Lear at least ponied up to try and help Derry continue though in my heart I believe the best option would’ve been to bring the two head to head (Monsanto vs. Brownfield) on air in a two part exchange rather than to simply kick Derry out the door.

Stay tuned for more info and scheduling changes as needed. I will adjust our entire lineup if necessary to keep Derry on air here on SaGR.

Programming Change/Addition

Per listener request Derry Brownfield can now be heard at 6:00 AM M-F as well as the standard 5:00 PM slot. The AM show will be a repeat of the previous days show, so if you missed it get up and grab a cup of coffee the next morning!

Thanks to SaGR listener Tom Searles for the suggestion!
