Stop and Go Radio started out as a technology experiment. Just to learn what it takes to make it all work.

In the process of assembling everything we began to grow increasingly frustrated by commercial (and “community”) radio in our home market (the greater Chicago area). I thought to myself “We’re 90% there now, how much more does it take to just get good programming and do it ourselves?”.

Well, 4 years have come and gone since we started this. We’ve had programming come and go, other internet stations have also come and gone and here we are still plugging along. There’s lot’s of things still to explore and even more to do just in the internet radio technology arena alone.

Over the years we’ve done Part 15 LPAM, syndicated our live Friday program to a small LPAM station in Missouri and soon we’ll be added to a non-profit community station’s line up as well.

What’s next for Stop and Go Radio? Who knows! That’s the fun part! We are currently beginning an evolution towards community programming and involvement. Join us!

Listener participation is what it’s all about. We get listener feedback and requests for programming and do our best to add it to the line up.

Stop and Go Radio is privately funded by myself and listener donations. We’ve never taken a commercial dime, just donations and underwriting from a few area businesses. But that’s the nice part, it’s underwriting that happened – not commercial advertising.
