New IRC server is coming online today. It’s pretty basic for now but will work for the show tonight.
It will be replaced by some type of community system soon. Something that will allow chat, messaging and more. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while but haven’t had a chance to implement.
We’re looking for a few listeners who would be interested in being on a steering committee of sorts to help SaGR continue to organize and further build on our programming and show themes. If you’re interested please contact us as feedback AT stop and go radio DOT com.
What we’re trying to do is to strengthen our direction, methods and programming. We strongly need listener feedback and ideas and believe this is a good way to get more listener involvement. Help us build Stop and Go Radio!
We’re open to pretty much any ideas you may have! It’s about the station as a whole and setting out on a course to building the station and building it’s audience.
We’ve been getting a fair amount of hate mail lately mostly involving the daily programming and it’s pretty disheartening. My motivation has always been to hit the largest amount of listeners in the broadest possible audience. Niche radio is a killer, we want to do a variety of programming.
If you only tune in a couple hours a day, let us know why and when. I would rather have 100 listeners tuning in at different times than 5 listeners listening all day. A good analogy would be listening to your local NPR or college radio station – you may only listen to a couple programs a day and then you’re off doing your thing. But it’s getting you here for those couple hours that seems elusive. This is why listener feedback is important.
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been running a lot of Old Time Radio of late. I’ve been rebuilding the automation system so in order to keep programming on air it’s been all OTR. Which as I’m hearing is welcomed by a few listeners. It’s always nice to get a change from news, politics and tech shows anyway.
Budget is back to zero again. It comes and goes like the wind around here
More soon!
