Stop and Go Radio is going strong but we’re out of funds. Thanks again to all who have donated in the past, but we need to pass around the collection basket again.

Stop and Go Radio is run by volunteers who donate their time and talents to make our broadcasts possible. We are neither a non-profit organization or a commercial venture. Rather, we are a community radio project supported by volunteers and listeners.

Our biggest expenses are the cost of music licensing fees, streaming our broadcast on the internet, and occasional equipment purchases to make all this possible.

Honestly it varies, but if I add it up for a full year and divide it by 12 it’s $125.91 per month.

This doesn’t include hardware purchases or music purchases. This is licensing, stream hosting, web hosting, domain registration and rack space fees only.

So as you see, it is cheap-ish to do but when it’s out of pocket the hobby cuts into your funds pretty good.

We’ve avoided massive amounts of website advertising in the past and I really don’t want to do it, and the truth is with the amount of traffic we receive on the site it’d be a couple dollars a month. Hardly worth the effort to add advertising to the site.
